Bellissima Jewelry asked me to design a new mailer for them that they would send to boutiques around the country as an introduction to their company. They have done postcards before, but I wanted to design something that would catch the persons attention and not get lost in the stack of mail like a postcard or smaller catalog would. We went ahead and setup a photo shoot and I designed a newspaper sized (11″ x 15.5″) catalog with large images, descriptions and prices of the pieces for them to send out.

Trustworthiness of Guitars

A couple months back I worked with my friend Jeremy on a Trustworthiness of Guitars poster… an idea that was taken from Matt Mcinerney’s Trustworthiness of Beards poster. He runs a music giveaway site and asked his readers to do a poll that shares how they felt about certain guitars. Out of the over 500 responses, the list was created and I illustrated all of the 32 guitars picked. Since the response to the poll was so big, they are going to get printed 39″ x 8.5″ and sold on his site. A full set of the guitar illustrations can be downloaded here for free.

The client wanted a lifestyle magazine feel to the guide and something that readers would turn to when exploring the city. Below are sample spreads and cover from the first issue. The Dwindling Party

CD package design, illustration and 3 color screen print for the Dwindling Party. Packaging is made from foam core board with a magnet inset in the middle for the album to be placed on and held down with a washer. 1st run is limited to 20 physical copies. And even If you ever lose the cd you can always use the package as fridge art.

Dudley Wedding Invites

I created a wedding invitation set and stamp design for the Dudley’s. The couple wanted a poster look to their invite and they also wanted me to draw a couple illustrations of their favorite things…. horses and kayaks. Sure!! The front of the postcard has a mad lib to fill out and the other side of the small card directs people to their website for more info.

Designed custom hang tags for Bellissima Jewelry Design. The main goal was to really have the tag stand out when placed around other products in stores. The old tags used were nice, but they just blended together with all the other paper tags around them. The solution was of course….. lasers!!! We ended up having an earring and necklace version laser cut into maple veneer wood by the ultra talented Roger Maynor at Lasers & Letterpress. Photos by Jessica Grenier

Designed and art directed the identity, menu and ad campaign for Arepitas restaurant.
The color palette chosen has a South American theme that gives a fresh look and appeal to people that are unfamiliar with the Arepa dish. With the dish being new to many people, the idea was to use handwriting and closeup photos that present a personalized, healthy and inviting restaurant with delicious food. Restaurant never opened.

.post due. is a postcard collective I started in early 2006 and ran until it ended with over 250 members in October of 2008. The collective had members from all over the world that traded unique, handmade postcards with someone else in the group every month. Members were never assigned the same person twice to keep the trading fresh. I made and traded hundreds of postcards and had two shows displaying the over 300 cards I received. Along with the postcards, I created 14 custom .post due. bags that were sold through the store and came with original art.
