Sarah and I are going to start working on a series of children books about an adventurous cat character named Emily. I worked up this quick mock just to practice some coloring really, but like how parts of it turned out. We should have the first book finished by the end of the year.

I finished up the wood monkey stands last night and think they turned out really great. They will be holding prints in the Denver and Boulder stores later this week. It feels good to bang out a project in a few days after coming up with the idea.

Alphabeasties is a really great alphabet book featuring animals that are crafted out of different type faces. It was done by Sharon Werner and Sarah Forss of the design studio Werner Design Werks. If you’re in the market for alphabet blocks, you can always grab some over here.

A beautiful set of photos taken by Tom Palumbo in Paris from 1962. Images from Paris cafés and nightlife in 1962, the same week Yves St. Laurent’s runway show vaulted Dior to new heights. Many scenes around Les Halles (which no longer exists as it did then).
